This past year we launched a massive pro-America and pro-military campaign titled God Bless the U.S. Armed Forces. As the Presidential Coalition moves forward, we want to show the brave men and women in the service how much we support them and stand by them.
Most recently, we treated the brave troops who fought for us overseas out of Fort Drum to an Indians baseball game at Jacobs Field in Cleveland. We have since adopted the soldiers at Fort Drum and provided them with “I Love America” shirts. Over the holiday season, with your help, American troops received numerous holiday gifts, including DVDs, portable DVD players, T-shirts, CDs, pre-paid phone cards and honey-baked hams.
We are currently launching one of our most important projects ever, The Armed Forces Voter Education Drive. Back in 2000 Al Gore tried to cancel out hundreds of thousands of absentee votes from our troops overseas, denying our brave men and women the very right they were trying to protect. With the generous contributions from our members we will send thousands of instructional pamphlets overseas detailing what our soldiers need to do to make certain their vote is counted. In addition, we will provide voter guides so they are well educated on each candidate and the issues.
With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we also have something very special planned for the moms whose husbands are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. With the help of our donors we plan to personally deliver Mother’s Day gift baskets to some of the moms who are at Fort Drum while their husbands are away. It is the least that can be done to say thanks for the amazing sacrifices they have made and for the single parenting they are doing while their husbands are fighting overseas.
