CU, CUF, TPC File Amicus Brief in Trump v. Carroll

In Trump v. Carroll, Citizens United, Citizens United Foundation, and The Presidential Coalition, LLC urge the Supreme Court to review the $5 million defamation verdict against President Trump for two reasons: (1) the evidentiary rulings of the trial court judge blatantly violated Trump’s due process rights causing the trial to resemble a Court of Star Chamber – a 15th century English court employed by the Crown to exorcise political and religious dissenters of the monarchy while masquerading as a court conducting treason trials, and (2) the Carroll case should be seen as one component of a larger, thoroughly corrupt, lawfare strategy waged against President Trump and his supporters designed to punish them for the audacity of challenging the nation’s political establishment, and to derail President Trump’s campaign seeking a return to office.
