DAILY CALLER: DAVID BOSSIE: Step One To Fixing America’s Border Nightmare — Show Mayorkas The Door

The brutal murder of two Americans by the Gulf Cartel crime organization in Mexico is just the latest reminder of the decades-long national tragedy that’s playing out at our southern border.

Like Kate Steinle and Mollie Tibbetts before them, Shaeed Woodard and Zindell Brown are dead because of America’s irresponsible “Wild West” open border policies that fail to protect our citizens and defend our national sovereignty. While President Joe Biden funds Ukraine’s war against Russia, there’s another war zone right under his nose that his reckless policies have greatly exacerbated.

So the question is, how many more people have to die before someone is held accountable?

It’s been more than 10 years now since Donald Trump started calling out members of both political parties for their tone deaf policies on illegal immigration. The stated positions of both the Obama-Biden administration and scores of establishment Republicans at the time was to simply reward illegal behavior with blanket amnesty and ignore security, drug and crime concerns.

During his term in office, President Trump did a lot of positive things to secure our border — including getting large portions of border wall built — even in the face of constant resistance from the uni-party in Washington, D.C. But that all ended with the election of Joe Biden and his decision to make Alejandro Mayorkas Homeland Security Secretary.

On the campaign trail, candidate Biden telegraphed to would-be illegal immigrants and drug cartels what his open border policy would look like and on day one he made good on his promise. Now, we’re in the midst of a crisis the likes of which we’ve never seen.

If you’ve come to the conclusion that Secretary Mayorkas was installed in his lofty position to manage the invasion of our country, you’re not wrong.

He regularly lies to Congress and the American people, and in the process has allowed a fentanyl epidemic to sweep the nation. There were over 100,000 drug overdose deaths in America in the last calendar year and yet the Biden White House says with a straight face that fentanyl trafficking is at “historic lows.” This Orwellian doublespeak is completely unacceptable — but the corporate media is out to lunch.

At a recent hearing on the border crisis, Congressman Clay Higgins — a former sheriff’s captain — said of Secretary Mayorkas, “if I could arrest you for violations of Louisiana revised statutes, I would.” Rep. Higgins is exactly right and is simply saying out loud what millions of common sense Americans are thinking.

While Congress doesn’t have the power to arrest someone, they do possess the power to impeach executive branch officials for high crimes and misdemeanors — and that’s exactly what needs to happen in the case of Secretary Mayorkas.

The crime scene at the U.S.-Mexico border must be addressed with a sense of urgency because what’s taking place there right now must never become the new normal. That’s why before Congress leaves for August recess, they should lay out the mountain of evidence against Secretary Mayorkas and vote to remove him from office.

House Republicans must make the Mayorkas impeachment vote a referendum on Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ horrific open border policies. It’s a vote that says no to lawlessness, drug trafficking, cartels, murder, sanctuary cities, illegal immigrant voting rights — the entire catastrophe.

For those weak-kneed politicians in the U.S. House — in either party — who may think impeachment is unjustified, make your voice heard and embrace Mayorkas’ disgraceful tenure by voting to allow him to proceed with his invasion unimpeded.

Furthermore, sending articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate would force battleground state senators to take a position. Do Democrats up for re-election in 2024 support Secretary Mayorkas and his deadly invasion or not?

The American people deserve a national debate on the open border disaster that’s crippling our country and Mayorkas’ impeachment can serve as the vehicle.

The Mexican crime cartel responsible for the recent murder of Americans issued a handwritten letter of apology for a reason. They’re concerned that the American government is finally going to get smart, secure the border and help put them out of business once and for all.

It’s time to make their nightmare a reality and it starts with showing Mayorkas the door.
