The Presidential Coalition Begins 2011 Virginia Campaign
The Presidential Coalition, an affiliate of Citizens United, will be a major supporter of conservative candidates in the Commonwealth of Virginia for the 2011 elections. Today the Presidential Coalition is contributing $5,000 to Virginia Delegate Barbara Comstock’s reelection campaign. The Presidential Coalition made direct contributions totaling $80,000 in Virginia in 2009-2010, and will be significantly increasing our investment in 2011.
“Our goals are to increase the Republican majority in the House of Delegates and capture the majority in the State Senate,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United. “I am happy to start the cycle by contributing to Delegate Comstock’s campaign. Delegate Comstock represents the 34th District, and has been a great voice for the people of Northern Virginia during her time in Richmond.
“The outcome of the elections in Virginia during the 2011 cycle will be a prime indicator as to whether or not President Obama will have the support necessary to once again secure Virginia’s crucial 13 electoral votes in the 2012 presidential election. The Presidential Coalition is making Virginia a priority in 2011 because it will be the first step in ensuring that Barack Obama is a one-term president.”
