Wash Post – Conservative group donates more money to Virginia candidates – 10/20/11
A political organization affiliated with the conservative group Citizens United announced Thursday it has showered legislative candidates in Virginia with another $23,500. In total, The Presidential Coalition has donated $125,000 to House and Senate candidates this election cycle.
“By electing these strong conservative candidates, Virginians will help push through Gov. McDonnell’s important legislative priorities with a Republican controlled Senate, and further the Republican majority in the House of Delegates,” said David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United. “Virginia is a key state next year in President Obama’s overall election strategy. With a poor showing by Democrat candidates this year, President Obama’s campaign will be immediately on the defensive in the Old Dominion.”
