WASHINGTON TIMES: DAVID BOSSIE: Wins from the Trump White House keep stacking up

For tens of millions of Americans, seeing President Trump showcase American power and prestige on the world stage is a refreshing return to something that has been sorely missing since President Reagan’s time.

On the first high-stakes overseas trip of his historic second term — to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates — Mr. Trump deployed his star power and political skills to secure more than $3 trillion in investments and economic commitments for the United States. Mr. Trump’s bold leadership, boundless energy and unmatched swagger represent a stark contrast with our former feeble president, who made Americans wince every time he took a step or uttered a word. We always wondered whether President Biden would stay awake through a speech, wander off or announce to the world that he had to go to bed.

On Mr. Biden’s foreign trips, the goal was to avoid international embarrassment. When Mr. Trump travels to foreign lands, the goal is to put big wins on the board for America. This dynamic president isn’t making news only on important investments in the countries he visits. Just last week, Mr. Trump announced that his administration would drop sanctions on Syria to give it a chance to prosper peacefully. He also announced that a nuclear deal with Iran was in close range, thanks to sustained direct negotiations. Make no mistake about it: The Trump doctrine is on full display. This president is fearless in thinking outside the box on foreign policy to get better outcomes for America and the world.

As Mr. Trump dominates for America in the Middle East, Democrats are on the expressway to a historic collapse at home. The Democratic Party has become a full-fledged national disgrace with a lawless, pro-illegal-immigration judge indicted on obstruction of justice, radical left-wing members of Congress “storming” an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, high-profile liberals working tirelessly to stop criminals from being deported, and assaults on Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg for daring to speak truth to power. Think of it: In the course of 30 years, the Democrats have gone from President Clinton preaching border security at his 1995 State of the Union speech to defending illegal immigrant gang members.

Without any phony investigations against Mr. Trump to hang their hats on, the left finds itself without an identity, a leader or a message. When they say Mr. Trump’s “America First” tariff policy will tank the stock market, the stock market grows. When they say Mr. Trump will cause a recession, employment statistics show robust job creation. When they say Mr. Trump can’t solve Mr. Biden’s inflation crisis, Consumer Price Index reports show inflation continuing to cool after four long years of reckless spending policies and malaise. During Mr. Trump’s first term in office, they called it the Trump effect, and thankfully for the American people, we’re seeing an encore performance.

In the face of all this good news for America, including illegal border crossings dropping to microscopic levels, the Democratic brain trust and liberal media are rallying around the foolish strategy of attacking Mr. Trump for securing a $400 million airplane from Qatar for the Department of Defense. This is the same sorry bunch who were well aware of Mr. Biden’s cognitive decline but chose to put America in danger by covering it up to cling to power. It’s safe to say that the American people are sick and tired of the Trump derangement syndrome they see from Democrats and their political allies in the dishonest mainstream media. They want innovative solutions to the big problems families are facing, not stale, partisan attacks and opposition to whatever issue Mr. Trump happens to be pushing.

As unhinged leftists fixate on the latest shiny object at the bottom of the barrel, Mr. Trump and Republicans in Congress are preparing their next act to help the American people secure a more prosperous future. Mr. Trump’s historic “big, beautiful bill” is swiftly making its way through the legislative process in the House of Representatives because Republicans are united in their mission to keep promises and not allow Democrats any breathing room in their deranged war to destroy Mr. Trump and his commonsense agenda at all costs.

The Republican budget reconciliation bill will be strengthened throughout May and finalized through good-faith negotiations among colleagues who share the ultimate goal. Lowering taxes and regulations, reforming federal spending programs and practices, securing the border, unleashing domestic energy production to lower costs and rebuilding our military will make America a much better place to live for decades to come. For Mr. Trump and Republicans in Congress, that’s the bottom line. Failure isn’t an option.

All signs are pointing to the unmistakable fact that America is back.
