WASHINGTON TIMES: DAVID BOSSIE: Impeach out-of-control federal judges
In 2021, deranged Trump haters in the House of Representatives, led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, launched their second fake political impeachment of President Trump. A single article of impeachment was introduced on Jan. 11 and was rammed through the House without any hearings or debate just two days later.
President Trump was accused of a bogus “incitement of insurrection” charge even though his speech on Jan. 6, 2021, referred explicitly to a demonstration that should be done “peacefully and patriotically.” Due process was thrown out the window, exculpatory evidence was discarded, and historical precedent was ignored.
One week before the end of the president’s first term, Mrs. Pelosi, Rep. Liz Cheney and other crazed “Never Trumpers” changed impeachment norms in the People’s House forever. They arrogantly rewrote the rules out of pure political expediency and hatred for Mr. Trump without a peep from the biased mainstream media, and the precedent they set can and should be a model for future impeachment inquiries.
From the outset of Mr. Trump’s second term, various federal judges at the district court level have politicized the judiciary and abused power to obstruct Mr. Trump’s agenda, which is dramatically reforming the failed status quo in Washington. Activist judges are ignoring the Constitution and Article 2 powers vested in the executive branch and are usurping presidential power and the solemn duties of the commander in chief to keep Americans safe.
Look no further than U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg’s order to halt Mr. Trump’s deportation flights of terrorist illegal alien gang members. This ridiculous order represents a breathtaking abuse of power, where a single district court judge is seeking to stop the president of the United States from taking actions that remove terrorist threats from the country. This stunning example of judicial tyranny has millions of Americans wondering whether we are living in an alternate universe in which a jurist, who is supposed to only interpret the law, can somehow think he is above the commander in chief. In the post-9/11 world, the idea of a rogue judge ordering terrorists back to America is beyond the pale.
This behavior cannot be ignored, or we will soon have judges unilaterally ordering our troops home from the battlefield. Congress should impeach Judge Boasberg without delay using the newly minted “Pelosi-Cheney Doctrine,” where the entire process in the House can take as little as 48 hours.
The same goes for U.S. District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer, who shamefully blocked the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department systems that would enable it to conduct a legitimate audit of how the U.S. government spends trillions of dollars annually. This is another gross abuse of power and an impeachable offense.
Seventy-seven million voters elected Mr. Trump to cut waste, fraud and abuse in government and do something about our unsustainable $36 trillion national debt. This sweeping political ruling by an unelected judge must not be allowed to stand. Attempting to thwart Mr. Trump’s constitutionally granted right to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars being spent by the executive branch under his control proves that Trump derangement syndrome is alive and well in the federal judiciary.
District Court Judges William Alsup and James Bredar should also face impeachment inquiries for abusing power with their orders to reinstate terminated federal workers. The idea that judges can dictate whom the Trump administration hires and fires for jobs in the executive branch is irrational and an affront to Mr. Trump’s commonsense efforts to streamline the insanely bloated federal bureaucracy. Sadly, these aren’t the only examples of judges who deserve congressional scrutiny for issuing anti-Trump orders that deliberately overstep their bounds.
With the ever-growing number of unconstitutional actions and abuses of power carried out by politicized judges in the early days of Mr. Trump’s second term, there is only one common denominator: Donald J. Trump.
Federal jurists appear to be improperly creating a different “Trump standard” based solely on politics and personality. Imagine for a moment a federal judge halting President Obama from entering the Paris Agreement or stopping President George W. Bush from responding to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on America. It simply would never happen. Federal judiciary members aren’t permitted to treat Mr. Trump differently just because he is a reform-minded outsider who isn’t a member of Washington’s establishment club.
Because of Mrs. Pelosi and Ms. Cheney, congressional impeachments no longer need to be long, drawn-out processes. House Republicans should use the rapid impeachment precedent against federal judges who desperately need constitutional checks and balances. A constitutional crisis is upon us, and action must be taken.
